1. CAN ANYONE BE HYPNOTIZED?
YES. Nearly everyone who can function normally in everyday situations is capable of being hypnotized. In fact, most of us use self-hypnosis even though they do not call it that. The only condition required is a willingness to be hypnotized. Without that NO ONE can be hypnotized.
2. CAN I BE MADE TO DO THINGS AGAINST MY WILL?
NO! And therein lies the two-edged sword of hypnosis. A powerful tool that can help us do everything, hypnosis CANNOT MAKE us do anything. Desire, willingness and cooperation are the keys to using hypnosis.
Many have seen stage shows where a subject is made to bark a dog or cluck like a chicken. This can only happen with the person's complete willingness. Consider the party-like environment when these things take place. A good time was expected and realized by both the participants and the hypnotist as well as the audience. In a clinical setting, such events would be impossible without a person's cooperation.
3. WILL I REMEMBER EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS?
YES! Unless there is a request or desire to forget some part of the hypnosis session, it is quite likely you will maintain a very accurate and pleasant memory of what transpired. Hypnosis can, in fact, be used to enhance your memory and your ability to both remember and recall things you already know.
4. ISN'T SOMEONE ELSE "CONTROLLING" ME IN HYPNOSIS?
NO! Without your total commitment and cooperation no one can make you do anything with hypnosis that you would not want to do without hypnosis. Here again, it is up to the client to have the desire and bring the willingness and cooperation to the hypnotic session to achieve the results.
No one can "MAKE" you quit smoking, lose weight or anything else unless it is first YOUR DESIRE! Only then can hypnosis help YOU make it easier and more likely you will achieve your desires.
